The Gnoshery, a lively board game café with a full-service kitchen, is looking for a Full-Time Opening Cook to join our team! This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, takes pride in consistency and detail, and enjoys being part of a collaborative, customer-focused team.
Position Details:
- Schedule: Shifts can be scheduled between Noon-10pm
- Hours: 32–40 hours per week
- Availability: Weekend availability required
- Start Timeline: We are looking to fill this position before May
What You’ll Do:
As a Closing Cook at The Gnoshery, you’ll play a key role in wrapping up daily kitchen operations and setting the next day up for success, including:
- Closing Kitchen Operations: Leading end-of-day procedures, ensuring all stations are properly broken down, cleaned, and reset for the next shift.
- Restocking & Prep for Success: Replenishing ingredients, organizing inventory, and completing prep tasks to ensure the opening team is fully set up for a smooth start.
- Food Preparation & Execution: Preparing and plating menu items with a strong focus on quality, consistency, and presentation during service hours.
- Attention to Detail: Following recipes, closing checklists, and procedures precisely to maintain high standards and operational efficiency.
- Cleanliness & Food Safety: Deep cleaning and sanitizing the kitchen, equipment, and workspaces while strictly adhering to food safety guidelines.
- Customer Interaction: Delivering food to guests and contributing to a positive, welcoming dining experience when needed.
- Team Collaboration: Working closely with both kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure a smooth close and a seamless transition to the next day’s team.
